Others don't seem to be experiencing this problem but be wary, I can confirm it did at least happen to me so it's not without issues. I get the complete system freeze no matter what I do if I alt+tab out. settings, run as admin, use 3rd party software to force windowed mode, run in virtual machine, run inside GOG Galaxy launcher, download and run without GOG Galaxy launcher (offline installer), etc. It's a very strange issue to have because I've never seen a game do this before. But if I alt+tab out, I'm unable to do ANYTHING. And my build is very, very recent (SSD, Win 10, RTX GPU, etc) so it's not that. I'm unable to alt+tab out of the game without it literally killing my PC. I also have an issue no one else seems to be experiencing. So, unless we get a comment from someone more reliable, I think we can safely say the hauntings are still missing unfortunately. I tried cleansing the other hauntings (like the windows, clock, fridge, etc) to see if that would somehow trigger the other hauntings to show up and I saw nothing to indicate the missing hauntings are here. I even tried grabbing the doll both times and putting it in the chest or carrying it around with me in the house. I've also heard from a few people in the community that they haven't either. Meanwhile, we’ll be here wondering if the Silent Hill franchise has a future following the P.T./ Silent Hills/Hideo Kojima debacle.A pretty high profile video game leaker on Twitter said that the hauntings that were previously missing from the PC release were here (or at least, the kitchen sink haunting was) but I've played through twice now and I haven't seen any of the missing hauntings. If you play in widescreen, text and still images will look stretched. The only new thing they added was more screen resolutions. I wasnt expecting much but my god, Konami has got to be joking. There’s really no other Silent Hill game like it (even when the title does clearly pay homage to previous installments), which makes it both a notable entry into the franchise and one of those games that all horror enthusiasts should play after they’ve sampled some of the S-tier classics of the genre. So, I just tried the 'newly' re-released SH4 on GOG. While Silent Hill 4 was criticized for its gameplay shortcomings and occasionally botched attempts at managing its ambitious premise, it was praised for its fascinating atmosphere, incredible story, and unique attempt to shake up the lore of the Silent Hill universe. The only escape is a hole that has appeared in his home which transports him to various nightmarish hellscapes. Released in 2004, the game focused on protagonist Henry Townshend who has been locked in his apartment by a mysterious force. As we noted in our report on those ports, slapping a price tag on whatever old Konami games people love, throwing it out the window, and calling it a day has kind of become the business model for a once-proud game studio who has stepped away from making notable new games in recent years in favor of chasing that sweet DLC, re-release, and Pachinko machine money.Įven still, you shouldn’t let any of that distract you from the fact that Silent Hill 4 is a very interesting game. That would make a lot of sense considering that Konami recently re-released the original PC ports of Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2 (as well as a Contra/ Castlevania collection and the original Metal Gear). Windows 7 / 8 / 10 1.8 GHz 2 GB RAM 3D graphics card compatible with. That would seem to suggest that this is merely a re-release of the original Silent Hill 4 PC port which hasn’t been available via digital marketplaces for quite some time. Silent Hill 4: The Room Free Download PC game with a direct GOG installer. The game’s description mentions basic features and plot points, but there are no references to any enhancements specific to this release. Enter The Room, a thrilling story in the most terrifying game series of all time.” “With gruesome sights around every corner and his sanity being tested, he must find his way out of this nightmare. “Henry Townshend finds himself trapped in his apartment and the only escape is through a mysterious portal that leads to a horrifying alternate reality,” reads a description of the game on GOG’s website.
